Processing of Thick and Highly Transparent OCA Tape

Customer's Challenge

The customer wanted to process a thick, transparent OCA tape to improve the transparency of an automotive display.

CSTEC's Proposal

Conventional die-cutting of OCA tape was difficult because the tape stuck together during processing. By using laser processing, we prevented the tape from sticking and achieved clean cut edges with less dust and debris.

All laser processing is performed in the cleanroom. We offer a wide range of laser technologies, from UV lasers to CO₂ lasers, and can process workpieces up to 1 m × 2 m in size.
In recent years, thick OCA (Optically Clear Adhesive) materials have become increasingly common as air-gap cushioning materials. CSTEC can also process thick OCA materials that are difficult to handle with conventional die-cutting methods.
