Proposal and Case Studiesof Tapes and Film
Customer wants to achieve high-precision processing of difficult-to-machine acrylic foam tape.
Acrylic foam tapes are challenging to process using conventional die-cutting due to a phenomenon known as blocking, where cut edges re-adhere to each other. This makes it difficult to produce small holes and make shapes such as narrow rings.
At CSTEC, we overcome this limitation by using CO2 laser processing, which prevents blocking and allows for precise fabrication of complex geometries that are not achievable with traditional methods.
In this case, we successfully processed VHB tape (3M) with a thickness of 0.8 mm.
