Proposal and Case Studiesof Tapes and Film
The customer wanted small light-blocking film parts for LCD displays to be arranged on a sheet for easy one-step application.
The customer needed many irregular holes to make light diffusion more uniform. However, the material was large and required many holes of different sizes and amounts, die-cutting was difficult. Instead, we used a large laser processing machine. The laser scanner allowed us to process many holes in a short time.
We combined a light-blocking tape and a double-sided adhesive tape and aligned them during processing. This allowed the parts to be supplied on a sheet, helping simplify the customer's assembly process.
The final product was a black-and-white optical tape used in a smartphone light guide plate. The product required both light-blocking and reflective properties in specific areas, and the small part size made release control very difficult. By carefully adjusting the die-cutting process, we were able to meet the customer's requirements.
