Low-cost, small-batch production of microfluidic channels

Customer's Challenge

Customer is seeking low-cost, small-batch production of microfluidic channels without molds.

CSTEC's Proposal

Microfluidic channels have traditionally been manufactured by creating molds and injecting resin. However, at CSTEC, we use die-cutting and laser processing to form fine microchannels in double-sided adhesive tapes, and then precisely laminate them onto films or plastic plates. This method enables lower-cost production compared to conventional processes.
We can work with a wide range of materials, including glass and acrylic, and can also apply hydrophilic coatings inside the channels. In addition, by using a pressurized deaeration system during lamination, we can reduce air bubbles and achieve highly precise bonding.
This process is also ideal for small-lot prototyping. It allows customers to produce multiple design variations and evaluate the optimal channel structure efficiently. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
