【MOVIE】A flexible microfluidic channel chip without leachables at the bonded part

Customer's Challenge

This customer wants to create flexible microfluidic channels similar to FPCs.

CSTEC's Proposal

We developed a microfluidic channel chip in which PDMS is sandwiched between hydrophilic PET films. Traditionally, PDMS could only form molecular bonds with glass or PDMS. However, our proprietary technology has successfully achieved molecular bonding between hydrophilic PET and PDMS. As a result, this chip has no leachables at the bonded part and has flexibility due to the nature of film. Similar to an FPC, the completed microfluidic channel chip can be bent and folded for the purpose of use in compact spaces.
